Getting to know the area -- Palm Sunday

March 24, 2013
hey folks
Life is good. we're hiking though our area and its going really well. yesterday we finally had church in the branch and all three new missionaries spoke and the sister in the senior couple here as well. that was a party. umm what else. last night we had some great rain. for reals it was awesome. luckily it was just started as we left our last appt so we didn't have to stay wet all day. but we walked home. so great. i love the rain. we also found a new running route which is beautiful, of course. so that's fun....

what else.... our branch president is super gung ho. our branch/district is apparently on probation to become a ward/stake aka we have to keep our numbers up for a year before we can be a ward so that's exciting! the whole area is working really hard towards that goal. our branch president is making us a map of where all the active members live so we can find them and then ask them where the less actives are.

there are a million less actives here, it's rough. like we were waiting at a waiting shed of sorts for a member to meet up with us and my comp started talking to all the tricycle drivers and one of them was like oh hey i was a mormon once! but it's been like 25 years. crazy.

let's seeeee. im excited to see the easter celebrations here. word on the street is they're not as crazy as they used to be/are in more rural areas which is chill cuz people like crucify themselves over thur daw. cray cray talaga. but yesterday everyone had palms and flowers for palm sunday that they took to their church and then their priest would bless them and they put them on their door for passover so they wouldn't die or something. good times a comin!

umm yep that's pretty much it. we teach all day erry day which is sweet. our area is not too provincey so people still live way close to each other which is nice as far as time goes cuz you don't have to spend an hour in transient between lessons!
sooo ingat eh!
